Script for talking head

Script for talking head
Leo Fabbri, Film Studies, Unit 26, Assignment 1, Scott Pilgrim Vs the World Review
The film that I will be doing a review on is Scott Pilgrim Vs the World it came out in 2010 and was directed by Edgar Wright and produced by Big Talk Films. The most known actors in the film are Michael Cera and Chris Evans. The synopsis of the film is that Scott Pilgrim must defeat his new girlfriend’s seven evil exes so that they can continue to date but all of her evil exes are much more powerful then Scott Pilgrim . However this does not mean that is fits into the romance genre the film is very much centered on comedy.

The film is set in Toronto, Canada. In the opening scene Scott is introduced by a voice over parodying Star Trek giving the setting of the film and saying that our hero of the story is dating a seventeen year old Chinese high school girl called Knives Chau. It then goes into the a house in which Scott does not live but he is there with his friends Neil, Kim and Steven who are waiting for Knives to show up.
A bit later on in the film Scott and Knives go to Scott’s actual house where he lives with his gay roommate Wallace. Scott goes into  a dream state where he sees his new love interest of which he does not know the name of, he then goes to a party with his friends and meets the girl again and he finds out her name is Ramona. After that he orders a parcel from Amazon in order to see Ramona again.

After this his band are invited to go to a battle of the bands battle against a band called Crash and the Boys. Before he goes to the battle Ramona comes to his door with the package and he asks her to hang out with him because he has lives in Toronto all his life and Ramona has just moved here. They become close and technically dating and he invites him to his battle of the bands battle. In which Ramona and Knives show up so Scott decides to knock out Knives so that he doesn't have to deal with the awkwardness of his know two girlfriends talking to each other. During their song the first villain shows up and challenges Scott to a fight to the death for Ramona’s love the villain says the he is from the league of evil exes. Scott is unsure as to why he is fighting him.

After the fight Scott learns from Ramona that in order for them to keep dating Scott must defeat her seven evil exes Scott is confused as to why she doesn't just say her seven evil ex-boyfriends. Scott goes with Wallace to see the production of a film being made and of cause another evil ex is there.

Example of good interview

This is an example of a good interview because whilst the interviewer and interviewee joke between each other it has meaning to it because it allows the interviewer to continually ask the interviewee more questions.

Example of a bad interview

This is an example of a bad interview because the interviewer begins to talk about himself instead of trying to find out more information about the interviewee. This would be acceptable in a situation where the interviewer and interviewee knew each other on a personal level.

Mise-en-scene of Alien trailer

The film I have chosen to analyse is the classic 1979 Science fiction/horror film Alien. Staring Sigourney Weaver and John Hurt. The film is set on a space ship making a return journey to Earth, the crew of the ship have picked up a mysterious egg. Most hair and makeup seen in the trailer is dull and messy showing that their is mass panic at the point in time. most facial expressions of the ships crew are of fear and determination. The trailer shows at some points no light at all then bright flashing lights to emphasize that there is an emergency.
On the 18th of September 2014 the Scottish population will vote for their independence dependent on the outcome the course of Scotland will change indefinitely. Tomorrow is also a historical day for Scotland because it was the wars of independence in which William Wallace fought the English for the independence of Scotland. However he lost a battle in which he asked for the help of Robert the Bruce who avenged William's death after the battle.
Tomorrow the independence of Scotland will be questioned again, personally I think that Scotland should stay with the English because their economy may fall drastically in the next few years if they choose to become independent. However if Scotland stays with us they are to be given a lot of power from the English government meaning that they would be able to run the country themselves.
